Bill & Marsha Day

Thursday was a very busy day because I had a lot of tidying and cleaning to do in advance of Bill and Marsha’s visit today. Plus, I had shopping to do in the village, and I also baked a quiche to serve for lunch—and on a hot brilliantly sunny afternoon.

I forgot crème fraiche and had to return to Nester’s for it before I could complete the baking. I hate when I forget an ingredient when I am shopping, but hey, it’s a short drive. And when I got home and finished the quiche—actually, a favourite dish: a caramelized garlic, spinach and Cheddar tart that’s to die for good! Then I watered because today will be busy with Bill and Marsha, and I want all my time to play with them. I imagine they may want to see some island sites.

At 4:45 I left for Kris and Steve’s place to enjoy a barbeque with them and some of their friends. It’s always a blast with Kris and Steve, and Nancy is always there, so I departed full of positive anticipation. And it was really, really great. Their daughter, Carley, and their son, Conner, were there. They are terrific people, and I loved being with them. And their neighbours, one of whom is Québécoise, were there and were a great addition to the fun.

At 9:30, it was time to go. As soon as I got home, I crashed. I went directly to bed because I have a very busy morning this morning. I have a lot of watering to do before Bill and Marsha arrive, and I must make a fruit salad. I can hardly wait to see them, but even more than being with them, I can hardly wait to get into the spa and then onto the chaise once they depart. These past few days have been extremely busy, and I am desperate for a rest.
