Blodel Conservatory

Although I don’t have the stamina I had pre-breakdown, my love of walking is still very much in tact. Monday’s big adventure was to walk home from Oakridge via the Blodel Conservatory. The birds in the conservatory are beautiful and their song in the air makes the experience with plants even more exquisite.
I’ve been there so often, I’m not moved to take photos but the finches are so tame that you can get very close — so I took the photo above.
It’s Tuesday March 7th and it’s snowing for about the tenth time this year. Oh please.
I need the residency to spur me back to life. I have my materials lying out to do my next dress but my mojo is only in the mid-range.

Out of the Woods

Sunday: Snow! Yes, a March blizzard. Still, I went for a walk. Not long, but worthwhile because I went to the Sylvia Hotel for drinks with long-time friends.
Provence is a nice restaurant that is on the water and about a ten-minute walk from my condo. Yesterday I discovered that they are the one of two restaurants in Vancouver that sells gift certificates for which you can pay with Aeroplan points. I have over a hundred thousand points worth $864 at the restaurant! Good times are ahead.
I live in a small world. I stay in my condo twenty-one hours of the day, minimum. If I go to a familiar place or to see someone familiar during my out-of-condo experiences, that pattern plus Cipralex makes me feel cured of m y symptoms. I still stutter with strangers but if I encounter them or venture into new territory when I am with someone I trust, I am fine so I’m living with a wonderful “out of the woods” feeling as concerns my mental health.

The Idiot - Batch #9

Vancouver Wholesters

My script is on hold while Boca considers it for development.  And I don’t want to make more dresses unless the show is going into production; I don’t have room for them. So I do nothing worth writing about. And what’s going on in my mind is dull.
At Dim Sum, my friend Dianne mentioned “boredom;” something we have in common so I created the graphic above to propose the idea of a monthly adventure club for compatible retirees and other idles. I’ll see what they think.
