We walked a new trail route on Tuesday morning. It was a great walk with very few uphill sections. I enjoy walking alone with Sheba, especially in the early mornings when no one else is on the trails. We wander and I let my mind flow through memories provoked by the light, the fragrances and the birdsong. It was a beautiful morning walk.
Then we went into the village to get some supplies at Nester’s, followed by a return to Pinecone Park where I watched YouTube videos until it was lunchtime. I fed everyone and then I went into the studio, lit the fire and started to clean and tidy the place up. It was long overdue. It’s going to take me a long time to bring order to the place.
Today, I’ll be taking some things to GIRO, our recycling organization, and Gabriola Disposal will come for the sofa plus all the rest of the garbage. The studio, being an unused and unheated space, has become a home to shitloads of spiders. I catch them in jars, and I release them in the wee shed that was going to be a sauna, then I vacuum up the webs and the bazillions of egg sacs.
I found a box of photos from my past, and old diaries. I’m conflicted about what to do with them. I don’t really see the point in saving them; I have no descendants. And I haven’t missed them for the eight years they’ve been in the studio. But throwing them in the garbage feels wrong. However, I know that when I die, that’s where they will go. So why not now? I’ll ponder this dilemma as I continue to work on the studio.
I got a good start yesterday. Today, besides taking some of the stuff to GIRO, I intend to bag the crap that must go to the dump, and I’m fixing up the two lawn lounge chairs and giving them to Colleen who lives next door. I have a lot of vacuuming to do, and I will wash the floor once everything is bagged and organized.
It feels great doing constructive work, and I do not get tired doing it. Plus, it’s toasty warm in the studio once I light the fire, and I have the CBC on my radio keeping me company. It’s going to be wonderful to go into the studio when I am done, and to see cleanliness and order. I enjoy cleaning and tidying when there’s no deadline and no boss.
This morning, we’ll walk with our friends before coming home to get busy in the studio. It’s a chilly overcast morning, and it’s supposed to rain this afternoon. It’s going to be a perfect day to be working in the studio. And today, I must be diligent about eating. Yesterday I ate far too much.

| This is a stream bed in Winter, but the water hasn't begun to flow yet. The roots of this tree have been exposed by the running water. |

| What a beautiful colour we found in the forest. This is either a shroom or a fungus. |
