Progress in the Studio

I was one very busy boy yesterday morning. Before leaving to meet our friends to trail walk together, I cleaned up the cattery, fed the pets of course, lit two fires, one in the house and the other in the studio, organized some of my recycling, did dishes and cleaned the stove. And as we left to meet our friends, I could hardly wait to get back home and to work in the studio.

Part of cleaning the studio involves divesting myself of things. I put the photos below on our community Facebook pages, offering the wigs and collar to anyone who wants them. The photo of the two full characters was just to show one of the wigs with its entire outfit. I have kept one collar that I’m particularly drawn to, and I have kept my Reena Virk art piece because I am so proud of it.

I have a box of stuff for Ursula. I hope she takes it. She works at our local daycare and the things I’m offering her are great for art and craft classes. I got lots of work done, but it is slow going because there is so much work to be done. I take breaks because of pain in my foot, but I did get a lot done, and I’m having second thoughts about getting rid of my sofa. I need to think about it for a couple of days.

I was toast by 14:30, so I came in to clean the five silver dollars that I found in one of my shadow box frames that are being tossed. I shined them up and I’ll see if I can sell them. Two of them are worth $325. Three are worth $37. I didn’t get to GIRO. I’ll go on Saturday. I got too involved in the cleaning to stop, and I’m glad I did because I reckon the worst is over with. I’ll do some more work in there today because what else am I going to do? I want to clean the second lounge chair so that I can take the two of them over to Colleen’s and get them out of the studio.

Just after 15:00, I took Her Highness for our afternoon walk. We took a short route because it was raining and because my foot was hurting from being on my feet all day. And when I got home, I was done. I felt very tired. It was time for the chaise for some R&R before making dinner for everyone. I practically cry when all the work for the day is done and I get myself onto the chaise. It feels like heaven to get off my foot.

Today … who knows. More studio cleaning, or not. I might take a day off. It windy and very, very wet out there and so I’d be happy to just chill in the house all day. But we must no into the village at some point, for some food shopping.
