I made this invitation and sent it to some friends (named on the cups) proposing a brunch. The round crest says: "The Sophisticated Vancouver Brunch Society." I love having all this time to fill. I love making a graphic invitation. It's like sending a Valentine when you send a graphic note, so I included the heart (and the cup handles make heart shapes).
I love brunches and I love Sundays. Both words have connotations of leisure and calm. It is fun to entertain when still full of the energy of morning. And if I am lucky, it will be a nice day and we'll be eating in blazing sunshine — inside, but still in full-on vitamin D lighting. And I will be able to serve fresh baking from my course the day before as well as whatever else I make.
