My Day

Saturday was predicted to be the last day of the string of lovely days. Rain is supposed to start tonight and last until Wednesday, when we get a one-day break, and then it’s back to rain. However, whenever rain is predicted, we always seem to get much less than the weather office expects.

My goals for the day were to clean the hot tub. It’s time to get the spa going again. I long for a good soak. My last time in it was last October, but I got an email from Stacy inviting me for a pizza dinner with our friends, so I decided not to do any work, or I’d be too tired for the visit and my speech would suck.

Instead, Sheba and I went to Elder Cedar to walk in the glorious weather. It was 16° and brilliantly sunny. It was a wonderful walk; I was giddy due to the beauty of the rain forest, the sound of the stream and the wonderfully warm weather. We came home for some chillin’ time, and then we went to Stacy’s for dinner with Colleen, Nancy and Stacy’s granddaughter, Rory.

We broke up early, at about 8:30, and when we got home (Sheba is always welcome at Stacy’s), we went straight to bed. And this morning I’ve awakened to a damp and cloudy My Day. Soon, Her Highness and I will go for a forest walk, and then we’ll pass a slow and easy day at home together with Fred and Ethel, then tonight I’ll feast on a movie.
