Saved! I went to the hospital yesterday morning and I gave them my letter of apology and the explanation about eating part of a brownie. They were so understanding and kind, that when I was done with the appointment, I went into the lobby and had a seizure. The whole experience with the brownie, was terribly emotional because I fucked up so badly and I thought I screwed myself for another 6 months of waiting and panting.
But I am not going to have to wait another six months, I am going back today for the tests I couldn’t do yesterday. That’s what made me so emotional, their kindness and their willingness to see me again so quickly. I’m extremely relieved. Although I fear the stress test, I value the change to show the doctors how weak I am. So, two tests tomorrow: a stress test and another MIBI test.
Yesterday was my third day without Diet Coke. I’ve been guzzling orange juice and sparkling water all through my days and I love being free of my addiction. I hope I keep drinking orange juice and water, saving diet coke for meals with friends. We’ll see what happens. I am known to be weak.
An enormous branch fell and ruined one of my bird baths. The heavy snow is breaking branches, and you can hear the snaps and see the clouds of snow rising where the branch falls in the forest. The branch in my yard is far too heavy for me to lift and move, so I will wait until I can get help from Dave.
I was up very early this morning because I went to bed early last night. Whenever I go to Nanaimo, I am wasted when I get home. I will walk Her Highness around the block when daylight breaks, and Nancy will come by at noon to feed her, walk her and spend some time with her in the house.
And I go back to Nanaimo hospital yet again. I am happy knowing that today is the end of the diagnostic journey. I am going to enjoy doing as little as possible on the weekend and being with Sheba and the felines all day together.
So, I’m off. Three days in a row on the early morning ferry to Nanaimo. It’s brilliant and clear and cold. A great day for travel in a car with heated seats and an excellent heater.
