We went for a long walk with our friends yesterday morning, and oh, the fragrance of the air was lovely. It was overcast and a cool 8°, but I loved every second of our walk. Not only was my nose happy, so were my lungs. The Tezspire seems to be doing its job. I walked briskly and even uphill without consequence.
Then we came home to a toasty warm home to chill. I wasted some time until we all had lunch, and I ate too much. I’ve lost. My discipline it seems, but I’m still happy with how I’m faring. I’m very conscientious about serving sizes still, and I’m snacking on tiny apples and salad.
Kevin and Shelly came by for a short visit. They, like so many island residents, they are headed towards the equator for the Winter season. They are very nice people, and I miss having them in the hood, but I’ve still got a lot of truly lovely neighbours!
When they left, it was time for me to Zoom with my investment advisor and that took an hour. What a terrific guy Jason is. He is patient, warm and kind. He gave me tips to follow up on that will save me money, and I’ve done them all already. And when the call ended, it was dark. Too late to walk Her Highness, so we all soon thereafter had dinner, and then I did my usual thing of having dinner in front of the TV.
And now it’s Tuesday. The sky was clear and full of stars when I got up, but that seems to mean nothing of late. By the time the sun comes up, it has usually clouded over. This morning, I must fast until I get to Life Labs for blood tests that will begin another round of lung treatments that will culminate in a hospital visit on December 15th for tests I don’t like.
But that’s then, and for now, I just need to get through the morning without food. The rest of the day is ours. We’ll walk, of course, and do some fetching at Rollo Park. Poor Sheba is not liking my servings of smaller meals and the lack of treats, but I’m determined to be a good dad and get her weight down. I’ve been noticing some issues with her back legs, so it’s time to slim her down.
The sun is up now, and the sun is bright. It did not cloud over so my clover will have another day of sunlight to help it grow. Tomorrow a week of rain begins. Sigh. I’m going to try to be better about my dieting today. I was doing very well until I started hosting dinners and especially Thanksgiving. There’s been so much food around, it’s hard not to eat it. Besides, I hate wasting food.
