Relief!! A huge relief because Abhi told me that I’ll be successful at securing Tezspire! I’ll be getting the bloody expensive drug FREE! Now I can relax and go through the rest of this process without any anxiety. I’m so f’ing happy! I never cry when I get tough medical news, but I sure do when I get good news. I was choking back tears as I bid Abhi adieu.
He was processing my paperwork yesterday. He’ll speak to Greenshield and doesn’t need me on the line for that one, so soon I shall hear about an appointment at a lab in Nanaimo where I will go for my first injection. They will also teach me how to self-administer the drug for all future shots.
At 10:30, I Zoomed with my UK group. It’s always a treat to meet with them. We were nine yesterday. A few were with us for the first time. I really enjoyed meeting the new people and, of course, seeing the regulars. It was a good session, and when it was over, it was time for lunch. And then, before tackling some yard work, I had a nap in the sunshine. I love that!
At 2:00, Ethel and I got ready to go to the vet’s. I’m glad to have a proper cat carrying case that I cleaned up for her. Then we were off. Poor Ethy, she was howling and very unhappy, but man-oh-man was she good. No scratching me or the vet, no hissing, no biting. She was calmed quite effectively by my constant presence and reassurance. Patricia, the vet, thinks she may be allergic to her food. So, a mission begins.
When I brought her home, she betrayed no hard feelings. So, I left her to settle and took Sheba into the village to shop and then to Elder Cedar to walk the trail. When we got home, I was thrilled to see the end of a busy, busy day. And Ethel was curled up on my desk, right at kissing level. All the emotion of the getting the biomed, then a rough Zoom call and then the vet. It was a rather overwhelming day, so today shall be a gentle one for me.
I lit a fire because the sky had clouded over by evening, and I wanted to be cozy because I had something to celebrate: all my tension about the medication was gone.
Today will involve a lot of watering and some weed whacking. After several days of high winds, the yard is full of forest crap again. I have a lot of raking and toting to do, and I just recently raked all the grounds. It never stops.
