Fred was howling and Sheba was whimpering at my bedside at 4:30 yesterday morning and, sadly, my gun had no bullets in it. I was forced to get up, feed everyone and light the fire. But once up and about, I had no regrets about rising so early because when I fetched wood, the sky was full of stars. Yesterday was another beautiful day that began quite cool but soon warmed up nicely.
Our morning walk was a spectacularly pleasureful one. We went for a long walk on a lovely and freshly pruned trail that had no hills. (See below.) It was a chilly 3°, but I had warm socks, a toasty warm coat and wool mittens, so I was very comfortable as we walked. I could have walked for another hour, it was so pleasant, but of course my foot hurt after an hour of walking.
When we got home from our walk, I did no outside work in the sunshine. I stayed inside where it was toasty warm and puttered around. All my work for SPACE was done. Before we walked, I’d made a nice big stir fry of fried rice that was packed with lots of veggies and prawns. It will serve me well for a few days. I love stir fries. I particularly like making several extremely thin fried egg pancakes that I slice into strips and then cut into short pieces for the stir fry. It’s labour intensive, but well worth it.
After lunch I watched a video about a barn conversion in Essex, and then Her Highness and I went into the village to shop for some supplies. When we got home, I spent the rest of the day and evening snacking like I haven’t done for months. I just kept eating, but today I am back to being a conscientious eater.
It’s another cool but clear and bright day today. There’s no precipitation predicted until Thursday when it may snow. Fuck! I hope it doesn’t materialize but it seems likely that it will and that means I must move my fuchsias into the studio.
I have only one thing on my calendar this week. I see Dr. Shoja on Tuesday, and that’s it. All the rest of the week will be mine to do as I please while I await the doom of snow.
