Thursday was more of the same cold wet weather. It wasn’t raining in the morning, but it had rained in the night and so everything was soaking wet. The antidote to Winter, a large fire, was struck immediately upon rising.
However, when we went for our walk at 9:00, the sky had cleared. Even so, we walked briskly to keep warm and then I came home for a Zoom session with my UK stuttering group. After that, it was lunchtime and then I did some reading before heading out for our afternoon walk.
I have nothing on my calendar for the rest of the month except to go into the clinic on Tuesday for my pneumonia and shingles vaccines, on the following Tuesday I Zoom with Dr. Shoja, and on the 26th, I go to the dentist. Otherwise, nothing, and that’s just ideal for me.
After writing about not liking alcohol and being happy I never liked it, last night on The Nature of Things, I watched a very interesting program about alcohol, why people like it so much, and about its role as a social lubricant. I was shocked to discover that modern science says only two drinks per week is safe. Watch it1 It’s on CBC Gem and it’s free to watch.
Today we’ll walk alone. It’s mild out there this morning, so our walk will be comfortable. Later today, I Zoom with Aidan in advance of my first SPACE board meeting on Sunday.
I love my solitary days.
