Getting Help

Well. I’m on to try number two. A young man (21) who, when he writes to me addresses me as ‘buddy’ or “laddy,’ is coming by today to help me with gardening. I’ll see how this goes. I feel good about hiring a young person.

By 9:30, every single plant in Pinecone Park was well watered. I’ve got a system that works for me now. It’s a breeze to do when it is cool. But after being on my feet all morning, I could barely walk because the lump on my Achillies tendon was killing me. It’s huge again, so I reckon rest is what it needs, so I called the local and incredible ambulance society, and I went to their warehouse of medical equipment and got myself a pair of crutches.

We walked our morning trail before I could pick up the crutches, and then I took her to her grooming appointment. I came home, via Nester’s, to fetch the crutches, and then it was time to feed the cats and have my lunch before returning to Sarah’s to fetch Sheba. When we got home, it was her turn for lunch, and it was time to go outside.

My foot hurts too much to do anything. And when I tried to use the crutches, my hand hurt too much, so I’m not going to use them. But I’m glad I have them, just in case. I don’t like walking Sheba at all. We’re only doing short walks.

Late in the day we went for our second short walk and when I got home, I got a message from a woman named Colleen who is an experienced gardener and a member of our local Gabian Gardeners group. I wrote back saying that I was very interested in her services. I’m now awaiting her reply. I like that she’s a woman and has experience. If she works out, I’m set.

Still no word from Julie, the nurse affiliated with Astrazeneca who will be training me to use the infusion pen that gives me the Tezspire drug, so I wrote to her this morning asking her for the status of my application.

It’s a very refreshing 17° this morning. That’s seven degrees cooler than at this time yesterday. Hooray! I’ll soon me out watering and then at 9:30-10:00 Ralf is due to arrive and I’ll see what happens.
