My Day!

Saturday was a great day. It was my first full day with Tezspire performing miracles in my body. Our morning was slow and easy until it was time for us to go to the farmers’ market. First, we walked Sheba in the 707, and then we spent over an hour at the market. So many friends and dogs were there; I was in heaven.

Then we came home, and I had a sleep. When I woke up, I got busy watering all the backyard beds. Just as I was finishing, Sheba started barking and I went to see what all the fuss was about and found Steve getting out of the car. I thought he’s been sleeping, but no! He’d gone to see the Chautauqua (read; Hippie) parade and to go shopping in the thrift stores.

At 3:00 we piled into the car to head to Cedar and a walkabout in a park we like there, and then to have dinner at Mahle House, our favourite restaurant. The food was extraordinary, and we had a great time chatting with the servers who recognized us from past visits. It was a gorgeous night, so the drive home and even the wait for the ferry was pure joy. But I was beat.

We watched about an hour of television and then I was dying for sleep. It was a good day. The morning market thrilled Steve and I really enjoyed myself seeing so many friends. And then the most spectacular dinner. What a great day!

I ordered more prescription refills. I’m living with the economic consequences of Tezspire. I’m taking ten medications daily and now I’m paying the full price for all of them. In the past, all of my medications cost one-to-three dollars per refill after my deductible was paid; that meant my meds cost next to nothing from March to December. But no more!

The epically long day in Nanaimo on Friday and then the return yesterday has depleted my energy. My batteries are dead, so today will be about rest and recharging. The day has just begun and already I am looking forward to napping in the sunshine and a night at home with the pets and a movie because it’s My Day!
