Bruce Play Date

Well, we’re back to sunshine. How fabulous for Bruce!

I did a lot of puttering around the house in the morning, tidying and cleaning before Bruce’s arrival, and then Her Highness and I went for our walk and to the farmers’ market to get some food for dinner with Bruce. And then we didn’t have a long wait before heading to the ferry terminal to fetch him just past noon.

But he missed the 11:50 ferry and the next one wasn’t until 13:10, so he didn’t arrive until 13:30. I used the unexpected time alone to order an Apple watch—the same one that I returned. However, now that I have an iPhone, the watch, with fall alert, will work and give me a sense of personal security everywhere I go. When I was with Lifeline, it only worked in the house. My watch comes on August 26th. Dave’s coming back to set me up.

Bruce arrived at 13:30. We came home and got settled and we got ourselves a drink and sat on the deck to chat, but the wasps drove us inside. Then, with Bruce’s help, we got What’sApp working on my phone and computer before we went to Elder Cedar to walk Sheba. By the end of the walk, by heel was burning, but Bruce enjoyed the walk.

We had a green curry dish for dinner. I loaded it up with prawns, tofu, and lots of veggies, and we had Gwen’s delicious blueberry pie for dessert. I bought it at the farmers’ market in the early morning. We chatted with Beth on FaceTime, and she recommended that we watch Paddington 2, so we rented it and we both hated it. Instead, we watched a doc and we went to bed early.

Today is going to be another sunny but comfortably cool day. The high is going to be only around 20°. We’ll be going to Silva Bay and the food truck for lunch, and we may go out for dinner.
