New Chaise

Geez, I’ve gone spending mad. I bought a new chaise today from Wayfair because my current chaise is broken and Wayfair is having a sale. It’s green like the one I have now, and it looks very comfy. I figure, why not? I spend every evening on my chaise, so why not have a good one, one that is comfortable and easy to rise from. I’ve decided to treat myself well for the remaining time I have here.

Yesterday was a slow, easy day. Bruce and I chatted through the morning, and we walked Sheba before going to the ferry terminal. I had a great time with Bruce, and he said he enjoyed himself, but he also said that he won’t be back. He hated the hullo ferry, so future visits will be drop-ins with Karen when they go to visit our friend Bill on Denman Island.

After dropping him off, I went to Nester’s and then came home for a long nap. When I rose, I had a spa in glorious sunshine, then I took Her Highness to Elder Cedar to walk, and when I came home is when I went on like and bought the new chaise. I’m quite excited about getting it and I’ll likely have no trouble at all giving the old one away. I’ll post an ad for it on Facebook.

I haven’t spoken with Nicola in ages, and I’m mad at myself because I adore her. So, I wrote her a long email and got a quick reply from Nova Scotia, and we will chat on FaceTime today. We hadn’t been in touch for a couple of months, so I was glad to be back in touch. And then, when I went to the vet’s place to get expensive hypoallergenic food for the cats, I stopped to fetch my mail and there was a postcard from Nicola!!! We are meant to be friends!

Late in the afternoon, Sheba was acting odd. At one point she suddenly bolted for the door, so I opened it and out she went. But something seemed odd, so I walked down the hall to the guest room where Bruce had slept and found that Sheba had peed and pooped on the wall-to-wall carpeting. Thank God I have a steam rug cleaner!! I was pissed and I let her know, and then we cuddled. I can’t be mad at her.

Today has dawned like yesterday. It’s mild and although there are many clouds, there is also lots of blue sky. I must water extensively today, and we’ll walk, but not far. I’m taking some time off from my dog walking group this week so that my heel can heal. I know that rest is what it needs, and I feel that it’s a bit better every day, but boy it can burn. That’s what it feels like: burning when I flex my ankle.
