wednesday
Wednesday was just fine. At 16:00, it was a very decent 24° when we walked in Elder Cedar. It was beautiful and sunny all day. We walked in the morning with our friends and then I went shopping. We came home, had lunch and then I spent an hour-and-a-half harvesting blueberries and tomatoes.
I can’t believe how happy I feel about life. My foot hurts, my breathing is a challenge, my speech is better with friends but still shite with strangers, and I have seizures, but still I feel very, very happy about life. The sunshine charges my batteries, and yesterday I didn’t water a single plant.
The big event of my day was bundling and preparing all my CAYA equipment for the courier to pick up. It is all going back to CAYA because I am not using the equipment. I am doing well at communicating without the devices. It’s not exactly that my speech is better, it’s more because I have been living here eight years and I feel comfortable and safe everywhere. I know the clerks and servers so I’m doing better.
The evening was lots of fun because I’m watching Catastrophe and The Great British Baking Show on CBC Gem. Catastrophe is very funny and very well written; it starts Sharon Horgan who was the brains behind Bad Sisters. TGBBS is my all time favourite show. I fall madly in love with so many of the contestants. For me, there’s nothing better on TV!
thursday
Sheba wouldn’t walk in the morning. She is feeling poorly. She kept waking me in the night to go out, so neither of us slept well. She’s had diarrhea for three days and now her appetite is diminishing and she’s lethargic. She went in for her grooming in the morning, and I watered all the front yard beds before returning to pick her up. And I took a stool sample to the vet.
It was a lovely comfortable day, but today a heatwave begins. It’s predicted to be in the very high twenties for over a week! While I was watering, my Apple watch arrived. It wasn’t due to arrive until the 26th; Dave is coming to set it up for me and to link it to my other devices. Woo hoo!
After lunch, I watered all the backyard beds, and when that was done, I called Sheba to take her to our short walking trail, but she wasn’t having it. She has a sore foot that will have to heal, plus she’s got her internal issue bothering her, so instead of walking, I got into the spa. It’s a very nice way to end my working day and to transition into evening. I LOVE my evenings with the pets, my dinner and movies. I love my nights alone.
friday
The morning began with a spa (good) and then a discovery of indoor pooping by Her Highness (bad). I had a large messy mess to clean up. Sigh. But soon we will try walking with our friends, and later today Jake comes to fix my freezer. I’ll end my day with Stacy and her man, Bryce, at Burro Rosa. It’ll be my first visit to our new restaurant.
