My Day Again

The highlight of yesterday was our aftern0on walk. We went to Elder Ceder grove where I’d only been once before, and it was many years ago. I thought it might be flat, and it was, plus it was a good long route. It was perfect, and although the day was dull and grey, it was very mild and that added to the pleasure of the walk.

Right now, there are mushrooms everywhere. They are shrooms of every size and colour popping up all along the trails. My favourites are teeny weeny white ones that grow in great numbers where they exist. There can be 40 to 50 of them, but they are so tiny and clean I find them to be absolutely gorgeous.

On the way back, I came upon Nancy walking Sierra who has grown enormously since I last saw her. She is a stunning and beautiful Alsation puppy, and right now she’s in her first heat. I shall desperately miss her; Nancy and Ron go to Mexico for the Winter, and they are leaving early this coming week. They won’t be back until April. Sigh.

The surprise of the day was finding myself outside gardening for a while in the late afternoon. I was drawn to do the work because my enormous Butterbur leaves were drowning all the other growth in the garden as they decayed for Winter. I’m scared of how much the plant will spread before blooming next year. I may have to move it; rather, Henri may have to move it.

Last night, after dinner, for no conceivable reason, I felt a tingling, a warmth, in my lip and jaw, and then I froze in my position, I knew something might happen. And then a full-on, old fashioned shaking seizure took me over. It was a furious one. In fact, I had two seizures yesterday, and because I’d only had two in the previous two months, I was disappointed.

But I shall concentrate on the good news. In May, I did something to my right shoulder from throwing the ball for Sheba at Rollo Park. For weeks, I had trouble sleeping due to the pain, and I stopped using my right arm as much as I could. It’s been brutal, but not using it has paid off. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed it was getting better, and every day since it’s felt marginally improved. IN a couple more weeks, all the pain should be gone.

It's a decent day today. I’m going to take Sheba back to Elder Ceder to walk again. It’s a good long walk, and it’s flat all the way. The only challenge are the roots that make every step potentially treacherous, so I must pay attention to each step I take.

Then we’ll come home to spend My Day with the kitties by the fire, but we’ll also have some outside time because it is mild and bright today.
