Zoom, Zoom

Monday began with a furious cleaning of the house, and as I cleaned, I noticed how damaged my living room rug is, so I ordered a new one from Wayfair. The old one will be added to the ever-increasing pile of stuff in my studio that will go to the dump with Gabriola Disposal sometime soon.

We did not walk with our friends yesterday morning because I had as Zoom call with Dr. Shoja, so we walked after the call and then I came home to water the backyard garden beds. Then came lunch, more watering and then it was time to Zoom with Aidan who’s fresh back from NYC where SPACE had a show at the Whitney Museum and where he did some fundraising.

Both calls went well, although speaking is very challenging. It requires such an effort that I often must pause to catch my breath. But Aidan and I had a great chat, and we chatted again, with more people from SPACE about our accessibility project.

The more I talk with Dr. Shoja, the more I learn about both myself, and about the impact of neglect on my ambitions and behaviour. Still, after ten years of talking together, I continue to learn. And she amazes me. Her memory of things said over ten years is positively astounding. She is a master of her profession, I’d say.

With two of my meetings done, and all the watering done, Sheba and I went for our afternoon walk. She does not like heat, so sometimes she does not want to walk in the afternoon. She did walk with me yesterday, and then we came home for our usual evening. I like my evenings at home; they are my reward for my days of chores and work.

Dwight called me and we were talking when he asked me about my work with SPACE, and thank God he did, because it was 18:50 when he asked and I had a SPACE Zoom call at 17:00 that I would have missed. I’d completely forgotten about it (and I earned a whopping $75 for being part of it).

Today is another sunny day. Of course it is; there’s nothing but sunny days in the forecast and it’s heartbreaking. I fear we’re in for a dangerous Summer. I will work outside today (hurray!) and at noon I will get my Covid vaccine.
