Fun With Paula

Paula and I had a relaxed ball yesterday. I got up very early, and as soon as it got light, I went out to water the backyard beds so that I’d be free to be with Paula all day. Early in the morning, I got an email from Jay inviting me to lunch at The Surf with Brian, a mutual friend. They were fine with me bringing Paula. When she rose after I’d finished all the watering, she said she was fine with going back to The Surf again, two days in a row.

Paula joined Sheba and I walking with our group on a trail through crown land. We both really enjoyed being out in nature in the early morning. When we got home, Paula helped me do more trimming of the Spanish Moss and transplanting into cracks in the pathway. Then we went to lunch.

Lunch was a blast. We met Jay and Brian at the Surf for lunch at 13:00. I had a long talk with Jay about his health crisis and about adjusting to being tethered to large oxygen tanks. It’s painful to see him so encumbered, this dear, dear man. But we had lots of laughs, and we loved our server. We had a ball with her because every time she came near us, I’d start talking about intimacy with pigs, or some other revolting thing. We had her in stiches, and we all tipped her generously.

We came home after lunch to chill a while, and then we walked Sheba in the 707. When we came home, we had a chat with Grayson and Paula was a smitten with him as I am. I’m buying more wood from Grayson to help him out. Then we came in and it was time for more chillin’ before dinner and a movie, but we also had some lovely long chats outdoors. We had a great visit.

This morning, I will take Paula to the seaplane and then go into Nanaimo to get the new fobs for my car.
