This Sunshine Never Ends

Monday was a glorious day!

We walked with our fellow pack members in the morning. We were five people and six dogs. It was a brisk morning, but we were toasty warm after walking a few minutes. When we were finished, I could hardly wait to get home to have a rest. Then I Zoomed for an hour with Cathy who’s at her Summer house in southern Nova Scotia.

Then the brood was fed, after which Her Highness and I went into the village to shop. While there, we saw Kris, and she invited me to her house to pick up some apples from her trees (after I asked her for them). We came home and I fried up more shallots to dry for the salads I will serve Kris, Steve and Nancy.

One I got all the fried shallots onto paper towels to dry, we headed for Kris’s to fetch the apples, and then we went to Drumbeg, the most beautiful place to walk on the entire island. And as yesterday was brilliantly sunny, our walk was particularly pleasant. I had to rest, however, at almost every bench. I am still not used to being so weak.

When we got home, it was spa time. Yay! I checked my email before I got in and there was a message from Aidan, a. fellow I only heard about on Sunday. He runs an advocacy organization for people who stutter, and he has very interesting things to say about AI generated voices. He is keen for us to talk, and he even would like to come here for a visit.

The spa was wonderful because it was late in the afternoon, and the spa was not in direct sunlight. I find the heat of the tub plus the heat of the sun to be too much. Oh, the pleasure of floating. Single me has a hot tub that seats eight! I can float on my back and not touch any of the sides. But I don’t. I like slumping into one of the seats leaving much of my body floating. Yum!

I heard again from Aidan, and it looks like he’d like to come over to Gabe for a visit. I’m truly excited about meeting this stranger because he is a stuttering advocate. He’s busy now with Rosh Hashana, but he’s getting back in touch after the holiday to let me know when we’ll meet—either here or on Zoom.

Today is another bright sunny day, and it’s predicted to be sunny all week. I can’t ever recall an (almost) entire month of September with only one evening of rain. I will water today and putter away the remainder of the day. It’s wonderful so still be outdoors all day.
