Tuesday was gorgeous. I watered the backyard beds in the morning, and then I fed the brood, after which I got my zero-gravity chair and went out into the garden to chill in the rays of a very warm sun. I was barely conscious when I thought I heard a woman’s voice calling out.
I did hear a voice. It was the Fedex driver with my Tezspire which was due today. For the second time, it arrived a day earlier than I was advised to be at home to receive it, and I’ve only been on the home delivery program for two months. I talked with the pharmacy, and they are going to check with Fedex about the travel time so that I am told the correct day to expect delivery. However, I’m going to be prepared in the future for the day before it is due.
Dealing with the delivery pharmacy is not easy. One problem is that when you call the pharmacy, you get an AI voice promoting a personal alarm, and when I pushed the pound key as directed to get to the operator instead of a person promoting the alarm, the line goes dead. I called back and the same thing happened.
Once off the phone with the pharmacy, I went out to water the front yard beds, the trees and the edible garden. And then I was done, and it was time to take Sheba somewhere beautiful to walk. I chose a long trail with only one hill. It was heavenly to be outside and cozy warm as we walked. I found myself grateful for the task of watering. Imagine that! But as I walked and thought about my tiny life, I realized that watering left plenty of time in the day for lovely things like walking Sheba, visiting a friend (it was Nancy yesterday; Kris the day before), or doing garden chores.
When I got home, I gave myself my shot before dinner, and then I settled onto the chaise to eat my dinner and watch a movie. After dinner, I read and watched a video about making Rote Canai. I’m very keen to try it because I want to serve it next week when Kris, Steve and Nancy come for dinner.
It’s a demanding challenge making roti. I must stretch large pieces of dough as thin as paper, and it takes two days to get it to the frying stage. But if I do it well, it will terribly impress my guests because roti canai is one of my favourite things to eat. When it is fried, it’s bashed together shortly a after frying to break the bread up into a fluffy pile of wonderful taste. It’s served with a curry sauce for dipping, and it’s the most delicious Malaysian condiment imaginable.
I don’t know why, perhaps it’s because I don’t nap anymore, but I/m going to bed at nine o’clock now, which is pretty early. But I get up at 5:00, thanks to Fred; that’s probably why. Anyway, it’s been happening for a while and I’m fine with it. I sleep like the dead.
Another day of brilliant sunshine is ahead of me today. Yesterday, it was a lovely 20° when we went for our afternoon walk. Today is likely to be the same. But next week looks wet. I won’t be watering today, I’ve the day to myself and I don’t have any plans. It’s going to be a very good day.
