Wednesday began with a fire. All I need for a toasty warm house all day at this time of year, is to light a small fire. It heats up the logs of my home and stays warm all day. Now that it looks like our eternal sunshine is coming to an end, these last days of spectacular weather before ‘the change’ comes are precious. I spend all day outdoors.
We met our friends to walk the Ricki Ave. trail. It’s a killer for me; it begins with a long climb up a hill. I hate it, but once up the hill, it’s a beautiful trail because it gets lots of light and then there’s a lovely long downhill walk to end the walk. On Friday, after our walk, we’re all convening at Stacy’s to remember Otis and eat snacks. I’m taking a cake because it’s Di’s 87th (!) birthday. The woman has a titanium constitution.
The piece I wrote for STAMMA went over well. It will soon be on their website, serving to heighten awareness of the impact of AI-generated voices on people who stammer. I reckon that my ‘work’ with STAMMA is going to get a lot more meaningful once I connect with Aidan. He’s way ahead of me as an advocate for people who stutter.
I reckon that the huge bag of clover seed I ordered might arrive today. That’d be great because I can sow it on Friday/Saturday ahead of predicted rain. Dave, next door, has as little sunshine as I do on his lot, and his clover is thriving—even with deer munching on it all the time. It would be amazing to have a green blanket of clover on the ever-bald areas of my lot.
I’m soon to be taller. I bought heel lifts that go in my shoes. They’re sold specifically for Achillies tendonitis. I hope it relieves the pain I get as I walk. I don’t understand why wearing heel lifts works, but using lifts is recommended everywhere I read about Achillies tendonitis. Yesterday, I was ready to quit walking Sheba, so I hope the lifts make it easier.
In the evening: the usual.

We’re in for another gorgeous but cool morning—toasty warm in the sunshine and afternoon. I’ve a Zoom session with my asthma doctor, and if he calls early, afterwards I will join my UK stuttering group, and in the afternoon I’ll be baking a cake for Di’s birthday on Friday.
And finally, here are fifteen landscapes for today’s photos:
