Tuesday was cold and dark all day. It was only 6° in the afternoon. What a blessing it was to come home from our walks and from shopping in the village to a warm, wonderful fire. There’s no place like home!
I did a lot of housework. I sorted recyclables in the shed, blessing the rubber floor I put down shortly after moving in. The floor helps keep me from getting cold feet when I am doing chores out there. And I washed floors, vacuumed everywhere (bloody Fir needles!), and scraped pitch from my firewood from off the hearth. Most importantly, I refilled the bird feeder. I do it every day. I love my little winged friends.
I wanted to bail on our second walk. I am sick of panting and feeling so weary, and I’m sick of the rain (even though we’ve had a rather dry Autumn). But we went. I feel guilty not walking Her Highness. And then we settled in for our dark Winter evening together with a rip roaring fire and a movie.
And finally, it is today, the day I see NP Jennifer and take the next step in getting an actual diagnosis for my weakness. Today is a day of great expectations.
