Signs of Spring

Two years ago, I planted some Butterbur in the garden. I have posted photos of it because it grown GIANT leaves. Above, for the first time, it has bloomed. It blooms in Winter and it is an unusual bloom, no?

Eight years ago, I planted a teeny weeny Camelia. It was a gift that a neighbour found growing near her huge Camelia tree. Over the past eight years, I’ve wondered about my sanity, watering it every day of every Summer, because its growth has been very, very slow. So, imagine how thrilled I was to discover the other day, that the little twig that could was well endowed with buds. In the photo above, you can see that

So many chores done, and so many naps taken. Thursday was another day of recovery and little action for Sheba, and I did my chores. I was shocked that I had to call for my follow-up appointment with Dr. Chen, but I’m very glad to have secured a date and to keep things moving forward.

The clouds rolled in in the afternoon, much to my disappointment, but it remained lovely and mild and it’s going to stay between 9° and 12° all week.

Today will be like every other day of this past week. We’ll be taking it easy and caring for Her Highness’ three damaged feet. Today’s the 21st. This month is almost over, and it feels like it just began. In fifteen days, Daylight Saving begins, and one month today, comes Spring!
