That Old Hero/Murderer Thing

This morning I discovered a "hero" I've long admired, Edward  Muybridge, is actually a total shit.

Muybridge invented moving pictures in 1878. When I was curating photography I discovered his story and exhibited some of his images. What I did not know is that he was a murderer and that he abandoned his son, Floddie.

Drew Christie exposed the sordid flaws of my former hero in this short film called The Emperor of Time. He uses a mutoscope (a devise not unlike a flip book upon which the peep show industry was built in the early 20th century) to tell the story and he tells it in Floddie's voice.
