We walked with our friends in the morning, and then we went into the village to do grocery shopping and to pick up the lumber I wanted for a short shelf in the kitchen. Since purchasing the air fryer, I need the shelf for my bread tin. When we got home, it was lunch time, and then I turned on the TV! That’s something I never do during the day. Daytime is for reading, but I left my book and my glasses in Vancouver and I’m awaiting their arrival in the mail.
Besides, I was too pooped to turn pages, so I started to watch Escape to the Country, but I fell deeply asleep very quickly. When I woke up, I decided to make a noodle dish for which I saw a recipe by Jamie Oliver. The recipe sucked, not the taste, but the instructions were so poorly written, I didn’t know how to proceed once all the ingredients were prepared. So, I just used the things I bought and made a noodle dish of my own invention, and I like it! It’s delicious.
We went for our afternoon walk at 4:00 and it was getting quite dark, and just before we arrived back at the car, the heavens opened up and down poured the rain. It was lovely to come home to a nice warm house and the welcome mews from Mr. Fred.
Our evening was soft and slow. I went to bed quite early knowing that Fred was still on Daylight Savings Time and that he’d be howling on the bed at 4:30 or 5:00 this morning.
And sure enough, he was in my face at 4:45, but I was content to rise because I could feel that the house was rather warm for morning. And indeed, it was. It was a lovely and mild 10° at 5:00 am, so there was no hurry to light the fire, but I did light one because it’s dark and very wet outside this morning.
Today will be a welcome slow day, and tonight I join Jay at Eoin and François’ house for dinner. Hooray!
