Baby Miracle Worker

Friday was cold. When I met my friends to walk our doggers, everyone was complaining about it, but as we arrived back at our cars after the walk, we were all feeling very comfortable and ready to do more walking. It’s wonderful how, once you get moving, the cold disappears.

After our walk, we went into the village and I picked up a turkey to cook for Christmas at Nesters, and we did a few errands in other stores before coming home for lunch. After lunch, I got busy making a recipe for shredded beef that I love. It’s a Chinese recipe and I bought a lot of obscure Chinese ingredients so that I could make it. I’m glad I did, because I love this dish.

I make a hell of a mess whenever I make it, so there is lots of cleaning up when I am done. There is always cornstarch and oil spatter everywhere when I am done so it takes forever to clean up after I’m done. But man-oh-man is it worth it! It is the only recipe that will get be to buy and eat red meat.

When order had been restored, Her Highness and I went for our afternoon walk, and our day was done. The evening was the usual, but with the most delicious dinner imaginable.

I watch and read a lot about medicine on the Internet. I wanted to be a physician, but I was far too squeamish and empathetic to be successful. So, I switched to becoming an English Lit major because I wanted a useless arts degree. Well, not true. I loved writing and reading, and so an English lit studies thrilled me.

When I met Art and he became my doctor, whenever I saw him, he had leads for me to pursue. He gave me blogs and websites to go to, and I’ve been doing that ever since. That’s how I found the pre- and post-op diet. Well, yesterday I watched a great many videos of a pediatric chiropractor, and every one of them had me in tears.

He is a medical genius. To see how he handles his tiny wards is so incredibly moving, that’s enough to bring on the tears, as do the smiles of the babies he treats, but the big miracles are his results. He brings comfort and joy to every baby, and in doing so, he does the same thing for the parents. He’s the  guy for me. He’s a hero.

Today will be a day of rest. I’ve a Zoom call to make, Sheba goes to the groomer and tonight, I go to Stacy’s for Happy Hour.
