Winter is Here; It's Cold

Thursday began with an early walk in gentle rain with Her Highness, then we hurried home to get warm and dry. It was a chilly 3° in the forest. Once home, Her Highness went back to bed and I Zoomed with Aidan, after which, it was lunchtime and then I got busy with chores.

The pantry is done and it amazes me how much joy it gives me to bring order to a space. I can see everything I have, and it feels very, very good to see sparkling cleanliness where I store all my spices and baking goods. And I threw out a lot of crap: old dead spices, in particular.

In the afternoon I baked bread. I was Zooming with Steve when it was time to take the loaves out of the oven, and Steve was jealous. He’s going to start baking bread, he said. I encouraged him because it has brought me such joy to bake all my bread. And taste is the reward.

I must slow down with SPACE. I realized yesterday, talking with Aidan, that progress is going to be slow. That’s fine with me; in fact, it is very good news. But I’ve been pushing and that is going to stop. I love being involved with all these spectacular people.

The evening was the usual.

I see in our weather forecast, that it may snow on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. But rain is predicted on both days during the day, so it won’t last. However, it may be time to move my Geranium and Fuchsias into the studio. I’ve had the Geranium for three years and I’m going for a fourth.

Today we’ll walk with our friends on a very cool morning (2°), and I’ll be Zooming with Dianne this afternoon. Most of the day will be about reading and minor chores. I’m not ready to do the closet yet. That may happen after Christmas.

Several dear friends send me Christmas cards, and I never send any out at all. So, every Christmas I must write a lot of thank you emails (which is fine). I shall be doing some of those emails today.
