Another Low Demand Day

Thursday began under cloudy skies, and there was lots of fog clinging to the treetops. I was occupied with chores, so the weather didn’t bother me. I stayed busy until it was time to walk Her Highness.

Then we came home and I got back to work cleaning. I’d had no chance to clean up after my guests on Wednesday because of the all-day power failure. Mid-morning, the sun came out and it was lovely to see all the colours of Fall shimmering in the light thanks to the dampness on the leaves. It was so lovely, Sheba and I went for a mid-day walk together.

When we got back home, I finished all the chores that I wanted to do, so the house was looking lovely and clean and tidy again. Her Highness and I went for our third walk, and when I came home, I had a lovely, quiet soak in the spa. The sun is so low in the sky now, the spa doesn’t get sunlight late in the afternoons.

We passed last night without a fire. The house stays warm after a morning blaze, but this morning it was quite cool in the house. I love lighting the fire and feeling the house warm up in the mornings. It’s a ritual I really enjoy doing each dawn.

Last evening I really enjoyed watching a series on Tubi called Baumgartner Fine Art Restoration. I loved it. In each episode, Julien Buamgartner restores a piece brought in by a client. I find each episode fascinating. He is so clever and knowledgeable about art and restoration. It is fascinating to see what he does.

It’s going to be another sunny day, but there’s a chance that we might get rain overnight and showers tomorrow. I am hoping for a good shower. We need rain. Today will be about preparing for tomorrow’s trip to Vancouver and reading.
