Lexophilians

My will is underway! And Doug arrived on time!
We came home and basically just talked all day until I made dinner that we ate before watching a documentary on life in the Gulf Islands. Apt, no? It rained all afternoon, so there was no spa or forest bathing.
How today will roll out remains a mystery until Doug awakens. A forest walk and a spa are on my agenda. I’m certain he’ll be up for that. He departs later today.
A “lexophile” describes one who has a love for fun with words: “You can tune a piano, but you can’t tuna fish;  “To write with a broken pencil is pointless.” 
An annual competition is held by the New York Times to see who can create the best original lexophile. This year’s winning submission is posted at the end of these submissions.
No matter how much you push the envelope, it’ll still be stationery.
