Saturday: Penultimate Show Day

It is much more “fun” now to do the show. Lois is very generous in the dressing room about the growth of our show and I agree with her. Each show is a little bit better as I make numerous little tiny changes in the script on my feet.

I enjoy watching Lois in her scenes without me and taking glimpses of the audience now, knowing that I have all my lines and cues down pat. Last night, an older woman in the front row, fell asleep for the last ten minutes.

On the other hand, David is still using his script. He has not made the slightest effort to improve his performance.

Tonight, I will be going to do the show in a very good mood. Tonight is the last evening performance. I will savor the walk up the hill in the sunshine, sitting outside in the warm sun reviewing my opening cues at my 30-minute call and watching the cars arrive and the people getting out to come to the show. I love that.

Then tomorrow, a matinée followed by a champagne happy hour with John & Bunny and then dinner at Bishop’s to celebrate the end of another project in which I can take pride.

Here are some shots of the show taken by Presentation House photographer Christian van der Schyf.
