Yay: Tilling!

I was wide awake at 4:00 am yesterday morning, and into the spa by 5:00 to watch the sunrise. It was a great way to start a great day.

I got a lot done on the wasteland yesterday—a lot! I’m really chuffed by how much cleaner the area looks; I’m highly motivated to get it seeded this Fall. I have a dog walk with my friends tomorrow, and Sheba and I go to the vet as well, so I won’t get as much done today as I did yesterday. But I’m now well into getting the area prepped for new topsoil and seeding.

It was lovely again yesterday. It was a very comfortable 27°. It was sunny and bright, but we had strong winds through the morning—so much so that we lost power due to a tree falling across the wires not far from Pinecone Park. It’s very comfortable now and will be for the next week. Today is cloudy, but it’s unlikely that there’ll be rain. Today and all the rest of the week will be perfect weather for gardening.

I’m off to join my friends for our dog walk, then I’ll get to tilling. At 3:30, Her Highness and I go to the vet to see if, and when, we can stop the prednisone.

I’m looking forward to working on the wasteland when I get home. It’s very satisfying to see the last of ‘the wild’ disappear. With the new gate to Merrill’s and Leo’s, their point of entry is onto the wasteland, so I’m glad it will be tidy and welcoming. The work is something to do instead of reading, it’s active and practical.
